PIRI PIRI BRAAI SAUCE
Presenting the 5th in our range. MAN MEAT FIRE Piri Piri Braai Sauce.
I’d like to give it a little explanation. **Fanfare please**
I quote Wikipedia :
PIRI PIRI : ‘Piri-Piri (or Peri Peri) is the Swahili word for the African Bird's Eye chilli, a chilli indigenous to Africa’.
BRAAI: The word has been adopted by English-speaking South Africans and can be regarded as another word for barbecue, in that it serves as a verb when describing how food is cooked and a noun when describing the cooking equipment, such as a grill.
So it doesn’t take a scientist to work out that our Piri Piri Braai Sauce is the hottest in our range! However, since most Piri Piris are used just to add heat to food, we have gone one step further. Our current range; Chimichurri, Hot Ginger, Barbecue and Wasabi Teriyaki, whilst all individual in flavour are all versatile in their uses. IE they are all Condiments (can be used on the side of your plate), Marinades (to cover and add flavour before cooking) and/or a Sauce, so can be used during the cooking process. Therefore our Piri Piri offering had to do the same – and boy does it!!
It is superb with chicken and some meatier fish (monk fish etc). It can be added to houmous to make an amazing dip. Or added to pasta sauces - it peps up a bland Bolognese a treat! Or simply splash it wherever you like. You want hot – well get your face around this!
As always with our sauce development, our primary objective is to produce a sauce that compliments the flavours of the food, not over powers it, so if you want a sauce that will make you cry, then maybe this might not be for you. But if you want a hot sauce that will add a wonderful flavour to your food, and with a bit of a kick to boot, then look no further.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did developing it!
